Shoulder Circles – in this short Awareness Through Movement lesson, we briefly explore the bones of the shoulder girdle on the skeleton and palpating on ourselves. We then do a gentle circling motion, noticing how it’s the combined movement of many bones and the coordinated action of many muscles that provides fluid motion of the shoulder. This movement is effective in reducing tension in this region as we turn down the activation of some muscles and turn up the activation of others.
